The Associate Director of Business Services plays a key leadership role in managing the financial operations of the IIT division. Reporting to the Vice President / Chief Innovation Officer, this position oversees budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, procurement, and policy development to ensure fiscal integrity and strategic resource management. This role manages financial resources across state, sponsored, and departmental funding and leads all financial activities for the division. Budget Leadership and Maintenance

— Lead the annual budget process and manage amendments, including university-wide setup of Tech Fee Project Budgets. Transaction Tracking

— Develop and maintain internal budget tracking tools that go beyond the capabilities of Spectrum. Financial Accounting

— Ensure accurate recording of revenues and expenses; initiate corrections and oversee chargebacks. Financial Analysis and Reporting

— Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; respond to surveys and ad hoc analysis requests. System Access Control

— Evaluate and manage access to Spectrum and PantherMart systems; conduct bi-annual audits. Invoicing and Collections

— Ensure timely receipt and accurate recording of internal and external funds. Transaction Review and Approval

— Verify budget availability for HR and financial transactions, including temporary and student staff. Policy and Procedure Oversight

— Develop and enforce IIT-specific policies aligned with university and state guidelines. Procurement Oversight

— Ensure compliance with purchasing policies; optimize cost, vendor selection, and product quality. Contract Management

— Monitor recurring IT contracts for necessity, priority, and cost; ensure funding is secured. Special Projects

— Support strategic planning and resource management initiatives as assigned by the CIO. Leadership

— Directly supervise two positions: Manager, IIT Financial Services; Manager, IIT Procurement. What Makes GSU a Great Place to Work?
