2026 - Food Service Director - ROCKSTAR for SUMMER 2026 (Seasonal Relocation Job is not Local). This is a hands-on and demanding position. All lead staff will live on site at the job location with room, board, and travel expense assistance provided. The position runs May – September as Wolfoods operates summer camp kitchens across the country. The role requires flawless execution of the Wolfoods Camp Food Service Program and is not local, requiring on-site relocation for the term of the employment agreement. The lead staff member will manage all aspects of the food service operation to deliver high levels of camp diner satisfaction, compliance with camp standards, budget control, and staff training on service standards. You will be the primary liaison between the camp and the kitchen, attend meetings and events, manage payroll, handle special requests, and respond to concerns from camp leadership. This role requires initiative, leadership, hands-on self-reliance, and sound judgment. Responsibilities
Perform duties toward providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner Develop effective staff schedules based on business levels and budget guidelines Schedule and coordinate all side work for personnel Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Dining Hall according to sanitation standards Maintain appearance and uniform standards Be on the dining floor during meal periods to observe and follow up on dining hall operations Work with the chef on duty to maintain high standards of food presentation and sanitation Train and develop all front-of-house dining personnel Provide ongoing feedback to service personnel on standards and performance Communicate daily with the Head Chef and Camp Directors about dining hall operations Interact with diners for feedback Ensure the dining hall is open and prepared 15 minutes prior to service Implement a checklist system to facilitate daily dining hall operations Follow Wolfoods environmental initiatives to minimize waste and energy use Be knowledgeable of all menus and specifications Maintain dining hall standards through consistent follow-up Follow safety practices to minimize risk Provide daily reporting and maintain clear communication with subordinates, coworkers, and supervisors Motivate and foster a positive work environment Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings Understand food safety for special diets and allergy-related cooking Interact professionally with campers, staff, and parents Control inventory and place orders Project management and coordination Uphold Wolfoods standards of service and quality Maintain Health Department sanitation standards Manage staff and client relations Follow the Camp Food Training Program Use weights and measures for recipes and ensure accurate production timing, quantity, quality, and plating Lead planning, scheduling, directing, and training Understand cross-utilization and use of excess production Estimate production needs, establish par levels, order supplies, and manage inventory Place accurate food orders ahead of time Ensure kitchen and equipment meet health standards Teach and enforce safety regulations Specialized food preparation for events Assist in recipe development, menu planning, and may advise on equipment purchases Qualifications & Experience
4+ years of commercial kitchen experience in a lead role Minimum three professional references required with application submission Proficient in relevant skills for the role Quality-driven with the ability to self-motivate High level computer literacy Knowledge of Health Department standards Able to lead a team and take direction Minimum 6-day workweek (approx. 70 hours) Must live on-site in a rural setting with possible shared living spaces Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods ServSafe Manager Certified ServSafe Allergens Certification before camp start (company-sponsored) Ability to work under pressure in environments with variable temperatures Ability to cook from scratch; institutional and batch cooking experience is highly desired Ideal Candidates Are
