$110,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr Location: Huntsville, AL Overview
We are seeking a Digital Hardware Engineer III with a strong background in digital circuit design for space-grade and high-reliability systems. This role focuses on designing and implementing the hardware circuits that power and interface with FPGAs, CPUs, and high-speed devices (not on FPGA firmware development). You will lead the schematic-level design process, ensure proper power and signal integrity, and drive the bring-up, testing, and optimization of digital hardware modules. Responsibilities
Lead schematic capture and digital circuit design for high-reliability modules, including power delivery networks, clocking, and high-speed interfaces. Select components, define design constraints, and oversee PCB layout for optimal performance and reliability. Perform hardware bring-up and debug, ensuring designs meet all performance and environmental requirements. Collaborate with embedded software, firmware, and FPGA engineers to ensure seamless system integration (minimal FPGA coding required). Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development and post-production phases. Create and maintain detailed design documentation, test plans, and validation reports. Optimize designs for performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years relevant hardware design experience (9 years without degree, or 3 years with Master’s). Proven experience in schematic capture and PCB design for complex digital systems. Experience in high-speed interface design/integration (PCIe Gen 3/4, 10–100 GbE, DDR4). Strong background in power supply design (high current, low voltage). Seniority level
Mid-Senior level Employment type
