Overview
The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting functions in accordance with established procedures, methods, and systems. This role is responsible for account reconciliations, financial and regulatory reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and supporting audits. Base pay range
$70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Location: Miami, FL Responsibilities
Perform accurate and timely reconciliations of assigned general ledger and bank accounts; resolve outstanding items with relevant departments. Maintain prepaid expenses and accruals; prepare amortization entries and reconcile balances. Reconcile official checks, ATM, and teller cash daily; process adjustments as necessary. Prepare financial and regulatory reports from core banking systems, ensuring accuracy. Assist with state, federal, and internal audits; provide requested documentation and analysis. Serve as back-up for other accounting/finance functions and support special projects as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a financial institution or equivalent. Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with bank accounting, auditing, and reporting. Proficient in MS Excel (including VLOOKUP & pivot tables) and MS Word; Jack Henry platform experience preferred. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
