Job Overview The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing environment. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the Controller, Finance team, and operational departments.

Base pay range $95,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.

Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.

Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, amortizations, corrections, etc.).

Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.

Assist in preparing monthly financial statements.

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

Prepare schedules and reports for internal management and external auditors.

Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Support

Monitor AP/AR transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Review vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment runs.

Assist with customer billing, collections, and account reconciliations.

Cost Accounting / Manufacturing Support

Support product cost analysis, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.

Assist with standard cost updates and BOM review.

Reconcile inventory accounts and support cycle counts / annual physical inventory.

Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls.

Assist in process improvements to strengthen accounting accuracy and workflow efficiency.

Support audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Operational & Cross-Functional Support

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams on financial matters.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

4+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing or engineering preferred).

Strong proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.

Intermediate/advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).

Experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar).

Preferred

CPA or CPA-track a plus.

Experience in aerospace, electronics manufacturing, or regulated industries.

Knowledge of standard costing or project-cost accounting.
