Customer Experience
Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers reminders, training, and encouragement, and develops action plans for improvement in both retail and pharmacy. Greet customers and clinic patients, and offer assistance with products and services. Model and share customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive customer and patient experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits. Resolves customer complaints and helps respond to customers’ special needs. Operations
Supervises operation of the store and pharmacy, including opening/closing/changing shifts, task delegation and scheduling. Supervises control of the store money, including register counts, bank withdrawals, armored car pickups, safe deposits, change orders, and all aspects of bookkeeping. Supervises merchandising by planning and implementing sets, displays, promotions, and space usage. Analyzes inventory trends and supervises inventory management, including ordering, stock management, and liquidation. Supervises receiving, stocking, pricing, returns, and transfers of merchandise. Ensures execution of District Manager operational feedback. Implements store organization through hiring, placement, scheduling, and delegation. Ensures store grounds are clean and presentable; manages repairs and maintenance; responds to emergencies. Manages operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the sale of alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, and pharmacy products. Ensures staff are proficient with computer and technology systems and software; coordinates with IT support for system issues. Complies with company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers. Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned. Daily Planning and Execution
Assigns daily operational responsibilities and sets expectations for store team members and assistant managers. Business Performance Management
Analyzes financial and performance data; develops action plans to increase sales and control costs. Reviews KPIs daily and prepares to discuss with district management. Reviews asset protection data and develops actions to reduce loss. Analyzes pharmacy performance indicators and collaborates with the pharmacy manager to enhance performance, including serving as a pharmacy technician when necessary and allowed by law. Analyzes clinic performance indicators and coordinates with the Clinic Coordinator or Manager to ensure performance and support. Business Planning
Identifies sales opportunities to ensure growth and performance of the store and pharmacy. Manages inventory levels through ordering, stock management, liquidation, anticipating fast-selling items and seasonal changes. People and Performance Management
Manages team member performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals, observing performance, providing feedback, and recognizing achievements. Monitors and ensures timely completion of required training programs, including pharmacy training, for all team members; provides coaching. Makes hiring, promotion and termination decisions. Addresses issues and disciplines team members, collaborating with Employee Relations and HR as appropriate. Develops performance plans and follows up on deadlines. Monitors and approves team member compensation. Promotes teamwork and motivation through clear expectations, tracking results, enthusiasm, and shared vision. Ensures compliance with corporate policies and employment laws; maintains fair treatment of all team members. Maintains open communication with team members through one-on-one discussions and meetings. Training and Personal Development
Participates in company and on-the-job training to improve skills and productivity, including Walgreens School of Operations within six months in Store Manager position. Follows performance improvement plans offered by District Management. Obtains pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required by state law and pursues relevant certifications as required by state. Engages in self-development, learns about retail and management practices, and stays informed about pharmacy operations. Communications
Serves as liaison between district, corporate, and store to provide a communication channel, respond to requests, provide feedback, and implement initiatives. Conducts community outreach and assists in planning community events. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of retail management experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retail management experience. Licensed pharmacy technician as required by state OR pharmacy assistant in WA state OR licensed RPh as soon as possible per state requirements, no later than 12 months from start date. Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree. PTCB or ExCPT Certification. Three years of retail management experience, including supervising others and assigning work. Licensed pharmacy technician as required by state OR pharmacy assistant in WA state OR licensed RPh. We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
