Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate one or multiple concurrent management consulting projects and teams – ensure on-time, on-budget completion and adherence to scope and quality resulting in client satisfaction.
Lead teams and drive successful delivery of consulting projects in the railway and transit sector including O&M, stations, revenue generation, and customer experience.
Follow management consulting industry best practices in planning and executing projects, and interacting with teams, clients, internal stakeholders, and partners.
Ensure projects align with company goals and strategies and business priorities.
Help clients improve business and organizational performance and develop and implement new business strategies.
Contribute to bids/proposals, including cost estimates and project plans.
Perform business technology research and quantitative analyses, conduct/coordinate studies and lead workshops.
Leverage Deutsche Bahn’s railway subject matter experts in applicable projects.
Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure project success.
Delegate work to team members based on skills, and mentor and coach junior team members.
Requirements
MBA, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in any discipline, with demonstrated academic excellence and ability to engage in mobility/rail topics.
Minimum 5 years of experience in management consulting and familiarity with the management consulting approach.
Experience managing and developing direct reports.
Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills; independent work capability; quick learner with results orientation.
Passion for tackling complex challenges in mobility and railway transportation.
Several years of experience in the rail and transit sector; good understanding of O&M, commercial, and customer experience; experience with railway stations a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for analyses and quantitative models.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills.
Occasional domestic/international travel may be required.
Working Conditions and Travel The selected candidate will initially be assigned full time to a specific project and is required to work on-site in our Sacramento office. Over time, there may be opportunities to support additional projects with hybrid arrangements and limited home office flexibility. Minimal overnight travel by land and air may be required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work at a computer workstation for periods up to 4 hours at a time
Ability to speak on the telephone for up to 3 hours per day
Ability to sit for up to 3 hours without breaks at meetings
Ability to walk and stand for up to 4 hours without breaks at program site visits and meetings
Compensation We offer an annual gross salary between
$150,000 and $180,000
plus bonus (USD) for full-time employment, depending on qualifications and experience.
