Responsibilities
Manage and lead in a multiunit capacity, with the ability to multitask and direct a larger team across two store locations.
Provide and model best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to emphasize guest service.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately and professionally.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone with a professional demeanor.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs.
Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates.
Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; uphold store policies, inventory control, loss prevention practices, safety, and ethics.
Communicate with store associates and the District Manager to implement initiatives; train associates on responsibilities, policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers.
Schedule store associates in accordance with guidelines; ensure breaks and meals are taken as required and staffing supports optimal guest service.
Approve payroll and manage paid time off, ensuring accurate timekeeping and compensation.
Provide timely recognition and feedback to associates; document performance notes in the HR system.
Maintain a neat, clean, and merchandised store per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
Perform store inventory counts across stores in the district/region; stock shelves, restock merchandise, and organize the sales floor.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks and manage deposits as required.
Lead the team to meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties accordingly.
Balance and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines.
Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate findings to the District Manager.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.
Maintain staff and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.
Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
Establish professional partnerships with military personnel when applicable to bases.
Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred (business/marketing/merchandising).
Retail management experience: at least 1 year; retail sales/leadership experience preferred (3+ years).
Video game knowledge preferred.
