Store Manager role at GameStop. The Store Manager is responsible for all facets of store operations and directly influences the performance of everyone who interacts with guests. Using GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, the Store Manager develops a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest, provides outstanding guest service, and supports the overall store environment to meet or exceed sales and profit goals. Manage and lead in a multiunit capacity. Provide and model best-in-class guest service: greet guests, address questions/concerns quickly and courteously, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guest needs. Support the shopping environment, visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/returns using the POS system, including handling cash and receipts. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone, using the provided greeting. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., reservations, trade‑in, Pro Rewards). Recruit, interview, hire, develop, and retain high-performing associates. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethics. Communicate with store associates and District Manager to implement initiatives; set guest service expectations and train staff accordingly; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers. Schedule staff to meet guidelines; manage staffing levels to ensure consistent guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment operate properly. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily; manage inventory and restock to keep products represented on the floor. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks at closing as appropriate. Lead the store team to meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative and operational duties. Count and reconcile daily transactions; manage currency, closeout paperwork, and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate issues to District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately and promptly; ensure proper labeling and packing. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries; keep records/files organized; keep manuals up to date. Foster professional partnerships with military personnel on applicable bases where required. Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team lead; meet leadership performance expectations. Operate POS; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
