Job Description PetSmart is hiring a PetsHotel Manager in New Bern, North Carolina. This full-time role provides leadership for the PetsHotel, focusing on the safety of people and pets and the pet parent experience, while upholding the store’s vision, mission, values, and strategy.

Overview PetSmart’s PetsHotel Manager leads the hotel operations and supports store leadership by driving company strategies, achieving targeted results, and championing exceptional pet parent service and efficient execution of the hotel’s daily business.

Responsibilities

People Leadership

— Participates in employment decisions (recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching); supports associate development; partners on scheduling and store P&L; addresses grievances; delegates daily tasks; communicates priorities; leads when acting as Leader on Duty; recognizes and fosters associate engagement.

Hotel And Pet Care Operations

— Manages reservations for pet boarding and doggie day camp; handles check-in processes and required health/medication information; administers medication procedures as needed; acts on sick/injured pets and coordinates veterinary transport; coordinates in-store events and marketing; maintains pet care and facility cleanliness; ensures a positive pet parent experience; supports store opening/closing; suggests merchandise and services; ensures safety and policy compliance; handles monthly hotel safety reporting; maintains equipment maintenance and resolves system issues; reviews pet parent service surveys and acts on feedback.

Qualifications

— 3+ years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience; full-time availability with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays; proficiency with computer applications; strong written and verbal communication; ability to work under pressure and stay organized; attention to detail.

Supervisory Responsibility

— Typically oversees one to four lead associates and ten to thirty non-leader associates, in accordance with PetSmart policies and procedures.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

— Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds (team lifts over 100 pounds); ability to handle pet hair and live animals; moderate noise with occasional higher noise levels; occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; reasonable accommodations may be made.
