The primary purpose of this position is to research, write, and disseminate child welfare policy information regarding child protective services. This position also drafts written responses to media requests and develops forms. This position will work as a team member for implementation of any initiative or project that requires a policy change in any matters related to the assigned subject matter. Documented child welfare experience and knowledge of child welfare programs, concepts, practice, policies, laws, and rules related to foster care, adoptions, and foster home licensing. Ability to research, analyze, and interpret Federal and State laws and translate them into policies related to child welfare. Experience in technical writing to prepare formal documents and develop forms for diverse audiences; accuracy, detail, and grammar are essential. Experience in implementing child welfare-related policies or procedures and monitoring those policies for compliance to achieve intended results. Excellent written and verbal communications skills for engagement with a wide range of professional stakeholders and the public. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio and Excel. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
