Position Summary

This position will be used as a pool to fill future needs of Beaver Classic part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) retail positions for the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) at Oregon State University (OSU).

The position will aid in the operation of Beaver Classic Cheese and product sales, ice cream sales, and other College of Agricultural Sciences products within the Beaver Classic line. This position requires frequent nights and weekends. Current hours of operation are 12pm-8pm M-Th, and 12pm-9pm F - Sat.

Transferable Skill Development

Position Duties 40% Retail operations to include: Completing orders at the retail shop, including uniformed scooping, baking waffle cones, crafting milkshakes and other operational needs. 20% Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, various workspaces used during the sales of ice cream. 20% Operating the point-of-sale system, tracking orders and sales, handling cash, and interacting with customers. 10% Storage organization and inventory management. 5%Assist with ice cream exchanges with production plant and completing paperwork. 5% Assist in cheese processing, including cheese and curd packaging, labeling and sales of cheese. The position has access to fiscal dollars as a primary responsibility and will require cash handling training Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

Required to obtain an Oregon Food Handlers Card within 15 days of employment Expected to work frequent evening and weekend hours, as required, to support production needs Will be working in a fast-paced environment, often required to lift more than 50 lbs. Lift, push, pull and carry items weighing 50-100 lbs repeatedly. May require walking, standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods. May require working with or around cleaning chemicals. Required to attend staff meetings, supervisory meetings and professional development sessions Shift and/or work assignments may be changed based on operational needs
