Position Summary
This position will be used as a pool to fill future needs of Beaver Classic part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) catering positions for the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) at Oregon State University (OSU).
The position will aid in the packing and mailing of our online mail orders, with a strong focus on our holiday boxes. This position will require irregular work hours, specifically during fall term, and very repetitive work.

Position Duties
Duties to be determined by the hiring unit, but may include: cleaning, preparation, packaging, operations, and sales of products routine to Beaver Classic online marketplace
60% Packing Orders, ensuring accuracy, are presentable and packed to withstand various shipping challenges
30% Shipping orders, driving them off-site to be shipped, finalizing boxes to be shipped, and understanding the intake of orders
10% Cleaning up after the job is complete, as well as keeping an inventory to ensure overselling

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Bilingual or Multilingual Prior food service or other customer service experience Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Required to obtain an Oregon Food Handlers Card within 15 days of employment Expected to work frequent evening and weekend hours, as required, to support production needs Will be working in a fast-paced environment, often required to lift more than 50 lbs. Lift, push, pull and carry items weighing 50-100 lbs repeatedly. May require walking, standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods. May require working with or around cleaning chemicals. Required to attend staff meetings, supervisory meetings and professional development sessions Shift and/or work assignments may be changed based on operational needs
