An exciting new opportunity for a Project Control Supervisor within the King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has just arrived! This is a new position, and you will partner with two peers to help lead the Process Control work group at the treatment plants. About The Role This role will help the entire Process Control work group but will have a primary focus on the Brightwater treatment plant, the Carnation treatment plant, as well as the conveyance pump stations on the east side of Lake Washington. The role will have supervisory responsibilities for technical staff involved in the engineering and analysis of the process control function for wastewater treatment plants. Job Duties Perform the full scope of supervisory responsibilities for the assigned process control staff Evaluate plant performance and laboratory data and provide or approve directives for process control adjustments Review and approve regulatory and technical reports Partner with regulatory agencies and diligently work to ensure compliance with all permits, laws, and regulations Provide overall vision for the process control function and motivate employees Approve purchasing, budgeting, design upgrades and major process control changes Review and approve laboratory testing and sampling techniques and procedures including Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs (QA/QC) Review, improve, and create work processes and procedures to help improve efficiency and documentation Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in a physical science, engineering field, and/or wastewater, ranging from certificate programs through doctorate degrees and post graduate work Proven ability to communicate / present technical information to non-technical audiences to enable data-driven business decisions Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders including operations & maintenance, procurement, engineering, human resources, senior leadership, and the general public Direct “process control” work experience in a manufacturing setting (e.g., wastewater treatment plant, drinking water plant, etc.) Skill in written communication techniques and principles, to be measured through a detailed review of submitted materials (e.g., cover letter, resume, and answers to supplemental questions) Commitment To Equity, Racial And Social Justice King County, named after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is a diverse and vibrant community that represents cultures from around the world.
