About Our Client Our client is a fourth-generation, family-owned business with a history spanning over 100 years. Their projects extend across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut, serving markets such as energy, water, wastewater, commercial (including offices and labs), industrial, and institutional sectors. Job Description Oversee and manage all preconstruction activities for civil projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. Prepare and present detailed cost estimates and value engineering solutions to stakeholders. Lead the development of project timelines, ensuring feasibility and adherence to deadlines. Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms. Provide technical expertise and guidance on civil construction methodologies and best practices. Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate project estimates. Support the transition from preconstruction to project execution, ensuring a seamless handoff to the construction team. The Successful Applicant A successful Director of Preconstruction - Civil Projects should have: A strong background in civil construction with relevant technical knowledge. Proven ability to manage preconstruction processes, including cost estimation and scheduling. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients and subcontractors. Experience with construction management software and tools. A detail-oriented mindset and the ability to deliver accurate and comprehensive project plans.
