Job Opportunity With The Department For Aging And Independent Living
The Department for Aging and Independent Living provides services for the aged and physically disabled populations across the state. The Department is charged with assisting individuals in obtaining needed home and community-based care and services to prevent premature admission into a long-term care facility. The goal of the departments programs is to assist individuals with remaining in their own home for as long as possible. The Department is currently seeking a high energy, self-motivated individual with the desire to assist the Division in supporting the departments goals. Responsibilities for this position include: Makes recommendations for policy improvements. Facilitate web based and in person trainings and meetings as related to the programmatic requirements. Provide coordination and professional support for the community-based programs administered by the Division for Aging and Physical disabilities. Kentucky Strategic Allies Fostering Empowerment of Todays Youth (KY SAFETY) grant initiative, in conjunction with the Project Director, for all aspects of the project with appropriate grant partners. Collaborate with identified providers and community partners to promote the mission and vision of the Department. Review the implementation and effectiveness of programs administered by the Division. Provide technical assistance to providers and participants to ensure timely completion of program requirements; actively engages in collaborative meetings with state providers. Collect data and assist team in analyzing feedback and data from community partners and program participants to gauge satisfaction and success. Provide coordination of community education/trainings for Division efforts. Other duties as assigned. Preferred skills and abilities include: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Ability to plan and establish priorities, differentiating between urgent, important, and unimportant tasks. Excellent organization skills including time management, scheduling, coordinating resources and meeting deadlines. Attention to detail being thorough and accurate in completing tasks. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure, being able to cope with a high volume of work and meeting deadlines. Exceptional customer service. Effective problem solver. Works well in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in providing or administering health services, social services and/or unemployment services. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in providing or administering health services, social services and/or unemployment services will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
