Job Title: HR Generalist, Talent Acquisition
Department: Human Resources
Location: Woodland, CA (Hybrid)
Reports To: Human Resources Manager, Learning & Talent Development
Position Summary
The HR Generalist, Talent Acquisition, is responsible for coordinating full-cycle recruiting and supporting Sakata Seed Americas people strategy. This role partners with hiring managers, manages applicant tracking and reporting, and ensures a smooth candidate experience. In addition, the HR Generalist supports broader HR initiatives, including learning and development, employee services, reporting, and compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, assessments, and background checks. Plan, facilitate, and participate in interviews, or coordinate with HR team members as needed. Partner with hiring managers to create strong candidate pipelines and ensure efficient, policy-compliant hiring processes. Draft and issue offer letters and contracts via DocuSign; maintain account templates and track activity. Coordinate interview logistics, travel, and scheduling. Oversee employee referral program, ensuring accurate tracking and payroll processing of bonuses. Manage the HR general inbox, responding promptly to resumes and inquiries. Collaborate with marketing on employer branding initiatives, including LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other platforms. Represent the company at recruiting and job fairs. Train hiring managers on hiring policies, workflows, and compliance requirements. Talent Reporting & Documentation
Create and maintain recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, turnover, ROI on pipelines). Utilize ATS and HRIS data to track activities, generate offer letters, and produce reports for leadership. Develop and maintain job descriptions and advertisements. Support organizational chart updates and personnel change tracking (promotions, transfers, wage changes, etc.). Coordinate with IT on title and reporting updates via JIRA. Provide weekly recruitment updates to department directors and HR leadership. Produce monthly headcount reports, quarterly dashboards, and ad hoc data requests. Support payroll and HR leadership with headcount validation and planning. Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and evaluate program effectiveness. Temporary Staffing & Vendor Management
Partner with HR Generalist, Talent & Onboarding, on temporary employee processes. Manage relationships with external recruiters, search firms, and staffing agencies. Participate in vendor contract negotiations (LinkedIn, Indeed, Checkr, job boards, etc.). Support temp audits, contracts, and risk management. Onboarding & Immigration
Collaborate with HR Generalist, Talent & Onboarding, to ensure smooth handoff of new hires. Serve as backup for new hire orientations. Coordinate employee relocations through vendors. Support immigration processes, maintaining documentation and coordinating with counsel as needed. General HR Support
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Support internal and external HR audits. Contribute to HR projects and perform additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience
BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field required. HRCI PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Minimum six years of administrative experience, preferably in HR. Minimum three years of recruiting experience. Experience with ADP, ATS platforms, LinkedIn, and online job boards preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of ATS systems and HR data metrics. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Detail-oriented with excellent numerical and analytical ability. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data. Adaptable, resilient, and able to manage stress in a fast-paced environment. Strong character traits including honesty, integrity, and cultural sensitivity. Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Prolonged use of computer and keyboard. Occasional extended hours as needed. Intermittent U.S. travel for recruiting events and site visits. Compensation & Benefits
Salary:
$75,000$90,000 annually Health & Wellness:
