Locum Tenens Neuro Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift – Urbana, IL

Neuro RN Job Details

• Location: Urbana, IL 61801
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: Neuro Medical/Surgical Unit, Level 1 Trauma Center
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2040–$2100
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel RN contract

Neuro Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of recent neuro nursing experience, including work in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• EPIC EMR experience required

Neuro RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neuro medical/surgical patients
• Conduct initial assessments, develop individualized care plans, and adjust plans based on patient progress
• Monitor and respond to neurological changes and seizure activity promptly
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of all nursing care and interventions
• Administer medications and treatments following the "5 Rights" of medication administration
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks to assigned healthcare team members
• Promote a positive, healing environment for patients and colleagues
