Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop\’s guest benefits, including new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards loyalty programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training staff on company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide timely recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into the Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates, manage breaks and meals, supervise staffing levels for optimal guest service. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify compensation for time worked. Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes and include packing lists. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system and basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly and follow written or verbal instructions. Manage a flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Handle pressure calmly, be a problem solver, and demonstrate reliability and trustworthiness. Able to stand and move for long periods; basic physical requirements including lifting up to 30 lbs.
