Responsibilities
The Store Manager 2 will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity, with the ability to multitask and direct a larger team across two store locations. Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using POS; ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program. Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates; ensure onboarding and training completion prior to shifts. Communicate with store associates and the District Manager to implement store initiatives; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers. Schedule store associates in accordance with guidelines; supervise staffing levels to maintain guest service standards. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify compensation. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; input performance notes into the HR system. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily; manage inventory counts and stock movement from stock room to sales floor. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks as required. Lead the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and cash deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records and up-to-date manuals; form professional partnerships with military personnel if applicable. Adhere to GameStop policies and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Strong people skills with an outgoing, welcoming personality. Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance; effective communication in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team lead; meet leadership performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic math and organizational skills. Complete required paperwork; follow written and verbal instructions; adapt to a fast-paced environment. Work 40 hours per week with flexibility for extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Maintain composure under pressure; be reliable, trustworthy, and discreet. Physical ability to stand and move for up to 12 hours; lift up to 30 lbs and perform related tasks. Working knowledge of military ranks/insignia for stores on military bases, if applicable. Benefits
