Full Time Job Number: 51580 Transportation and Public Facilities Division: SRD-Prelim Design and Environmental Closing Date: 10/06/2025 Base Salary Information: Engineer/Architect 1 – $3,633.00 / bi-weekly (OT Ineligible) Engineer/Architect 2 – $3,885.00 / bi-weekly (OT Ineligible) What you will be doing: Engineer/Architect 1: Under the general direction of the Design Manager or a registered professional engineer, perform as Civil Engineer lead for small-to-medium-sized capital improvement projects – including preliminary engineering & field reconnaissance thru final design & advertising. Work includes leading a multi-disciplinary team (internal staff and/or consultant) thru the development process for road & airport projects. Work also includes research, development, and final production of project deliverables (plans, specifications, estimates, and other engineering documents). This position is able to independently perform field reconnaissance work, as needed. The incumbent will work closely with & mentor Engineering Assistants. Engineer/Architect 2: Under the general direction of the Design Manager or a registered professional engineer, perform as Civil Engineer lead for medium-to-large-sized capital improvement projects & all relevant duties outlined in the E/A 1 position above. Who we are looking for: To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies: Civil Engineering:

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods required to plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain facilities such as highway & airport transportation systems, water and sanitary systems, and other public works systems. Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving:

uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one's knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary. Oral and Written Communication:

Special Note: Valid Driver's License is required. Requires occasional travel to project sites within the coastal region of Alaska (several trips during Spring/Summer/Fall). Minimum Qualifications

Engineer/Architect 1: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect. Engineer/Architect 2: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent.
