Job Summary
The
Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
is responsible for
specimen collection, preparation, and patient support
within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This entry-level phlebotomy position requires
accuracy, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
to ensure safe and efficient diagnostic testing services.
Key Responsibilities
Perform
venipuncture and capillary collections
(including pediatric and geriatric patients). Verify patient identity and ensure accurate specimen labeling. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with SOPs. Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Provide excellent
customer service , ensuring patient comfort and confidence. Support multiple locations and adjust to staffing needs with minimal notice. Must be able to perform phlebotomy using a
straight needle . Required Experience
Minimum
6 months of phlebotomy experience
required. 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred. Experience in a
Patient Service Center
or high-volume lab preferred. Customer service or retail/service background preferred. Strong computer and data entry experience required. Required Skills
Phlebotomy proficiency , including pediatric and geriatric collections. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and multitask effectively. Flexibility for weekends, holidays, and overtime. Preferred Skills
Prior floater or multi-site coverage experience. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. Familiarity with electronic health records and lab information systems. Licensure & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required). Phlebotomy certification (preferred;
mandatory in CA, NV, WA
- not required in NY). Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred). Benefits
