ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Lexington, KY 40536
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Contract)
• Unit: Emergency Department (ER)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 14 weeks (10/21/2025 – 1/27/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910-$1960
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Weekend Shifts: 4-5 per 6 weeks
• Orientation: 40 hours

ER RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience
• Active Kentucky or compact RN license (required at time of submission)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), TNCC, NIHSS certifications required
• Proficient in continuous IV sedation, triage, ventilated patient care, and dysrhythmia management
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred (required for first-time travel nurses)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Reference from a charge nurse or supervisor required
• Eligible for rehire if previously employed at this facility
• Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy ER setting
• Perform triage, assessment, and treatment for diverse patient populations
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and monitor patient status
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response and trauma teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Complete required onboarding and competency modules
