Overview
We are hiring for our client in San Jose for an immediate need of a People Operations Generalist (temp) to start ASAP. This is a high-volume, fast-paced role supporting HRIS (Paycom) administration, benefits & CA LOA administration, employee lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding), compliance reporting, and close collaboration with payroll. The organization seeks a capable, collaborative partner who can take the reins—someone who leads with both empathy and structure and builds relationships across departments. Responsibilities
HRIS administration (Paycom) and related system support Benefits administration and CA leaves of absence administration Employee lifecycle management, including onboarding and offboarding Compliance reporting and ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations Collaborate closely with payroll to ensure accurate processing and data integrity Coordinate benefit enrollment for new and existing employees, including annual open enrollment Address employee inquiries regarding benefits and resolve discrepancies with providers Assist with leaves of absence administration and unemployment insurance Support HR compliance reporting and data requests Maintain and improve HR processes (onboarding, training, performance management) in collaboration with HR leadership Post job ads and support recruitment marketing; guide managers through the hiring process, including sourcing when needed Qualifications
At least 4 years’ experience in HR or working knowledge of basic HR functions (benefits administration, leaves of absence, HR systems, Talent Acquisition, HR metrics, employment law, wage and hour) Experience implementing HR policies and practices with a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion perspective is strongly preferred Experience administering workers’ compensation and leaves of absence and responding to unemployment claims Experience administering or collaborating with payroll Knowledge of laws pertaining to leaves, workers’ compensation, wage and hour, and CA employer compliance Detail-oriented and highly organized Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all levels Employment Details
