CARB\'s Office of Legislative Affairs seeks an Air Pollution Specialist (APS) to provide technical support on legislation related to air quality and climate programs. Under the direction of the Legislative Director and Deputy Legislative Director, the APS will apply scientific methods and principles to review legislation and analyze technical and scientific data, and will advocate CARB program policies through the legislative process. The position will coordinate with legislative offices, state agencies, industry, and other stakeholders. Additional information is available in the Duty Statement. Special Requirements
Applicants must include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). The SOQ is a narrative describing how skills, knowledge, abilities, education, training, and experience qualify the applicant for the position. SOQ documents each candidate 0s ability to present information clearly in writing. Cover letters and resumes do not replace the SOQ. SOQ must include your name on the SOQ SOQ must include the Job Control Number Maximum length: 2 pages The SOQ should be titled “Statement of Qualifications, Your Name, Job Control Number” and address the desired qualifications and duties listed in the Duty Statement. Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list or LEAP eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility. SROA and Surplus candidates receive priority; others may be considered if no SROA/Surplus candidates apply. Required Application Documents

Include all relevant Experience and Education to meet the Minimum Qualifications. Resume is required. Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) as described above.
