This OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT remains open until September 30, 2026 or until all positions are filled. Initial referral cut-off dates occur on October 30, 2025 and then every two weeks, with referrals continuing as vacancies occur. The Section Chief is a leadership position responsible for all aspects of primary care delivery within the defined section and supervision of staff. Plan, organize, develop, implement, control and refine comprehensive patient management/clinical support within clinic. Provide services, technical counsel, and leadership to section staff to meet patient care needs. Promote primary care delivered via the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model. Maintain records of meetings with conclusions, data, actions, and evaluation of effectiveness. Develop policies and procedures to ensure effective management, ethics, safety, communication, and quality within the section and with other services as appropriate. Review privilege templates annually and recommend modifications as needed. Provide a full range of services including assessment and use of appropriate techniques for quality care in their subspecialty. Perform evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments of patients. Provide a full range of therapeutic interventions in assigned units/programs with clinical privileges including diagnostic assessment and medication management. Participate in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to enhance coordination of care. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive:

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Meet eligibility requirements and submit the EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review. Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, and regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days/year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and possible 5 days CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension with 5 years vesting and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care. Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory. CME: Possible $1,000/year reimbursement (full-time with board certification). Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant moonlighting restrictions. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Requirements and Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may be appointed where qualified citizens are not available. Urinalysis pre-employment drug screening where required. Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959. Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Background/security investigation required. Complete online onboarding; acceptable ID per I-9; REAL ID compliant IDs required after May 7, 2025. Pre-employment physical examination required. Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program. Probationary period may apply. Complete all application requirements as detailed in the announcement. Basic Requirements

U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens as allowed by VA policy). Medical degree from an approved school (LCME or AOA or approved foreign training with ECFMG verification). Current, full, and unrestricted medical license. Residency training in an accredited core specialty leading to board eligibility (ACGME or AOA or approved equivalent). English proficiency. Other residency pathways or equivalent experience as evaluated by the Medical Staff. Note: VA may approve exceptional appointments for candidates in special circumstances. Applicants may be appointed as Physician Residents Providers if still in training, under supervision. Preferred Experience

2 years of Primary Care experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Education

Degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited school; foreign graduates must meet ECFMG requirements as applicable. Legal and Additional Information
