10/01/2028 Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Payment Specialist serves as a resource responsible for ensuring the processing of incoming and outgoing payments and achieving high performance against Enterprise Payment and Income Center (EPIC) processing targets. Receive daily tasks and projects from the team lead/supervisor; work independently and as part of a team. Provide technical assistance in customer and vendor billing/invoicing, payment processing, and check requests. Respond professionally to inquiries from Background Studies (BGS) stakeholders, providers, individuals, and vendors; maintain excellent customer service. Provide administrative business support to the EPIC team. Analyze/triage incoming service requests and payments to determine routing. Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison within the division; coordinate with other financial staff and produce ad hoc reports as needed. Participate in EPIC team, Enterprise Services Unit, and enterprise-wide projects and initiatives. Assist in escalating issues between EPIC, other units in the Division, OIG administration, and Department of Human Services (DHS). Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience with customer and vendor billing/invoicing, payment processing, and check requests, etc. Resume must clearly describe experience in the listed areas and indicate beginning and ending month/year for each job. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial records. Investigation of invoice errors and direct communication with customers, providers, and/or vendors to resolve issues. Computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint). Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of state or non-state accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting clerical procedures related to accounts payable, check/cash collection. Experience assisting with routine reviews and audits to maintain compliance with procedures of various software applications and systems. Understanding of Data Privacy, Data Security, Breaches—policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. Ability to identify tools and techniques to identify problems and develop solutions; ability to analyze and solve complex problems. Excellent organizational skills; accuracy and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse backgrounds and cultures. Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of the following: Criminal background check Reference check Fingerprinting check (MNJIS/CJIS) Complete the CJIS Security Awareness training within 3 business days from the start of employment; and successfully obtain/retain CJIS certification annually.
