About the Job
The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota Medical School and UMPhysicians is recruiting a full-time neuro-hospitalist to provide clinical neurology services. This is a hospital-based clinical position providing inpatient neurology services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and associated MHealth Fairview community hospitals. Call coverage includes days, evenings, and weekends, shared with a team of 3-4 neuro-hospitalists and clinical neurology providers. The role involves teaching and supervising medical students and residents, and offers collaboration with neuroscience physicians and researchers. The appointment is on the Master Clinician Track, with scholarly activities focusing on teaching, quality improvement, and care model optimization. There is potential to develop and lead a neurohospitalist fellowship within MHealth Fairview hospitals. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency program; Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association Licensed or able to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification for Minnesota Meet credentialing and privileges requirements Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills Neurohospitalist fellowship training is not required Pay and Benefits
This role is jointly employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. The salary begins at $55,000, dependent on academic effort, with additional clinical salary through UMPhysicians. Total compensation is competitive and aligned with AAMC benchmarks.
