Overview
The Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Division of Pulmonary Biology. The candidate is expected to have an active research program with a strong funding and training record.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a robust research program in foundational lung biology areas.
Embrace and apply AI and genomic methodologies to enhance and diversify research.
Strengthen the division's comprehensive understanding of lung cell lineages, including epithelial, endothelial, mesenchymal, and immune cells.
Provide mentorship to faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students, enriching the academic and research environment.
Effectively manage research funding and contribute to the division’s resource development.
Qualifications
PhD and/or MD with significant experience in lung biology or a closely related field applicable to lung biology.
Established track record of research funding and significant publications.
Demonstrated mentorship and research training experience.
Interest in integrating AI and genomics into lung biology research

Job Responsibilities
Research, Teaching and/or Training:
Conduct research independently and collaboratively that aligns with ongoing projects; contribute to major research or teaching training programs; mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and students; advance contributions to research and teaching; maintain currency in the field; implement knowledge into research.
Service and/or Administration:
Participate in program development for service and/or administration; contribute to development or direction of research areas; participate in committees; manage budgets; promote teamwork and pursue long- and short-term goals.
Scholarly Activity:
Initiate and coordinate new research projects with external funding potential; present results at meetings; collaborate on grant proposals; seek sustained support from NIH/NSF; publish results; manage quality control and performance criteria.
Job Qualifications
PhD degree in a related scientific or research field
5+ years related experience in research and/or lab experience, including data preparation for presentations
Associate Professor appointment or eligibility required
