Vice President for Information Technology & Chief Information Officer . Oversee the university’s information technology strategy and operations, ensuring that technology fully supports UAB’s academic, research, clinical, and administrative missions. Guide UAB’s transformation into a data-driven institution by championing the development of a unified data strategy, robust governance, and advanced analytics to inform planning, decision-making, and innovation across the campus and health system. Partner with senior leaders, faculty, staff, and health system executives to deliver secure, reliable, and forward-looking technology solutions that foster collaboration and enhance institutional performance. Advance UAB’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities, promote data-informed decision-making, and ensure technology investments anticipate emerging needs, including opportunities presented by artificial intelligence. Qualifications
Transformative technology leadership with the vision and expertise to guide a large, complex academic and research enterprise through digital transformation. At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a research-intensive university, academic medical center, or similarly complex environment. Strong track record of leading enterprise-wide IT strategy and operations, expertise in data governance and emerging technologies, and proven ability to develop and lead high-performing teams. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Application Process
