Overview

The University of Alabama Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is recruiting faculty candidates for an open-rank/open-tenure appointment in the Division of Transplantation. The successful candidate will be expected to meet clinical, research and teaching needs, as applicable, in the Department of Surgery. UAB has a long history in organ transplantation and a commitment to education and research. Role Context

UAB is part of The University of Alabama System and is a major academic medical center with a large health sciences campus and an extensive research program. The university supports education of health professionals and medical science through advanced research and patient care. Responsibilities

Provide clinical, research and teaching contributions in the Division of Transplantation as applicable to the appointment. Contribute to the mission of the Department of Surgery through patient care, scholarly activity, and education of health professionals. Required Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD Outstanding leader and highly skilled, widely recognized in the field with a strong track record Substantial professional work experience in one or more areas of research, teaching and/or service Preferred Qualifications
