HDR is seeking a
Senior Mechanical Power Engineer
to join our national Power Generation team. You will lead the project mechanical engineering efforts on natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects, while serving as Engineer of Record or Owner's Engineer. Locations

Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines Monitor and communicate project status Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and Owner's Engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level Lead the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects Deliverables include construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates Project roles may include lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager and may include project manager Collaborate with engineers and designers from multiple disciplines Mentor less experienced engineers and EITs and manage multiple concurrent assignments Preferred Qualifications
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm is desired Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments Excellent communication and analytical skills Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs Proficient at working within an established schedule and budget Travel may be required, typically less than 10% for client meetings and site visits Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering A minimum of 10 years of experience Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit) Commitment to being an active participant in an employee-owned culture Compensation
The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $108,661 - $204,250. Equal Opportunity
