Overview The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University is seeking a dynamic and highly organized program coordinator to support the Knight Center for the Future of News. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of the Knight Center’s initiatives, events and daily operations. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver capable of managing logistics, budgets and communications with efficiency and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Coordinate activities of the Knight Center to ensure compliance with policies, timelines and funding specifications

Prepare periodic reports and other documentation related to program status and progress

Process and record expenditures, working with the finance department

Monitor program expenses, ensuring adherence to allocated budgets

Assist in the preparation of funding proposals and grant applications

Plan and coordinate workshops, conferences and other program-related events, collaborating with other teams as needed

Book travel and accompany participants as needed to ensure smooth logistics

Manage shared calendars, documents and files across platforms including Google Drive and Dropbox

Assist in supervising student workers and coordinating their project work

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

Proven ability to manage a variety of tasks on a tight deadline

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience planning and managing events

Experience handling financial reporting

Proficiency in Google Suite, including Excel

Proven ability to use a project management system

Ability to stand for varying lengths of time and lift up to 25 pounds

Travel with participants to provide support for operations of the program

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
