Introduction

The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), has an exciting opportunity for Seasonal Resource Assistants to work with the Bureau of Air Management, Planning and Standards, Field Monitoring Group in Windsor, Connecticut. These positions will assist the field monitoring group responsible for the day-to-day operation of the state's ambient air quality monitoring network. This network provides scientifically valid data on air pollutant levels in Connecticut, informing policy at both the state and national levels. Position Highlights

Assist in data review of field sheets used for air quality monitoring (QA/QC) Assist in tracking spare parts and equipment used in air quality monitoring efforts Transport filters used in particulate sampling to and from monitoring sites Assist in maintaining air quality analyzers and related equipment Assist with field calibration and audit efforts Assist in air quality analyzer installation and maintenance These positions are up to 35 hours per week and last no longer than 1 year or a total of 1,040 hours. Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted by the hiring supervisor anticipated for Spring/Summer 2025. Experience with computer software and MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams) Experience summarizing information and preparing reports Experience with electronic equipment installation, servicing, or maintenance Special Requirements

Some positions may require first aid certification, a valid driver’s license, pesticide license, college training, EMT certification, or lifeguard certification, depending on the role. Physical Requirements

Must possess adequate physical strength and stamina. Lifeguard roles require demonstrating ARC waterfront lifeguarding skills. Conclusion
