Middle School Girls Basketball Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our basketball coaching staff as a middle school basketball coach. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for the game of basketball, exceptional coaching skills, and the ability to inspire and spiritually develop student-athletes both on and off the court. This is a dual-role position, responsible for supporting the middle school program while also leading the middle school team to success. Responsibilities: Coaching Plan and lead middle school team practices, focusing on skill development, fundamental techniques, and team cohesion. Create a positive and supportive environment for middle school players to learn, grow, and excel. Develop and implement game strategies tailored to the middle school team’s strengths and opponent analysis. Attend all middle school team practices, games, and events, and manage in-game coaching decisions. Evaluate middle school players’ progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement. Collaborate with middle school/varsity coaching staff to ensure a seamless transition of players between middle school and varsity levels. Player Development Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, fostering personal growth, leadership, and character development. Work closely with players to enhance their skills in shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, and overall basketball fundamentals. Organize skill-specific drills and training sessions to address individual and team needs. Program Promotion Collaborate with the coaching staff to organize and participate in community events, fundraisers, and basketball clinics to promote the program. Support recruitment efforts by attending varsity games, interacting with prospective players, and conveying the program’s values and opportunities. Qualifications Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level. Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and coaching staff. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential. Organizational skills to manage practice schedules, game planning, and player evaluations. Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment. Availability to attend all practices, games, and team events, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Coaching certifications or relevant coaching education. Playing experience at the high school, college, or professional level.
