Job Overview
The Industry Engagement - Program Coordinator supports the University of Cincinnati's cooperative education (co-op) mission by serving as a first point of contact for new and prospective industry partners. This role plays a key function in onboarding employers into our industry partner ecosystem, guiding them through participation in our co-op program, and assisting partners in meeting their goals. The coordinator will also assist with targeted outreach and ensure companies are appropriately labeled and categorized for engagement efforts across campus.
This role will primarily function from the 1819 Innovation Hub, located at 2900 Reading Road. CCPS participates in the University's alternative work program; this position may be hybrid in accordance with UC policies. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.
Essential Functions
Maintain a deep understanding of UC's cooperative education programs, their variations by college, and the broader goals of CCPS's industry partnerships. Serve as a knowledgeable liaison to internal stakeholders and ensure employers are aligned with relevant college or program needs.
Act as the primary contact for new employer inquiries regarding co-op and internship engagement. Support employers through the onboarding process, ensuring clarity around program expectations, student timelines, and hiring processes. Participate in monthly virtual onboarding sessions.
Manage and maintain accurate tagging, labeling, and job collections in Handshake for both employers and job postings. Review new job postings and assess quality and fit. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data is consistent and usable for reporting and outreach.
Conduct outbound outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn) to companies that post jobs or express interest in UC's co-op program but have not yet engaged fully. Assess partner readiness, interest level, and strategic fit; escalate or refer leads to appropriate college-facing teams or the strategic partnerships team. Document and update activities in CRM (Salesforce).
Partner with staff across CCPS and academic units to support shared goals of increasing meaningful industry engagement. Maintain accurate records of outreach and employer status in shared databases and tools.
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Bachelors degree required
Required Experience
Two (2) years of relevant experience (higher education, employer relations, recruiting, or CRM systems preferred).
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain programs clearly and professionally.
Experience with job platforms and data management tools.
Comfort with cold calling and professional outreach.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data integrity
Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience working in higher education or with co-op/internship programs.
Familiarity with employer engagement strategies.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Knowledge of Salesforce and Handshake is a plus.
