The Career Advisor is responsible for individual career-related advising, resume and career document review/approval, and delivery of career programming for on-ground and online students. Special care should be given to maximizing internship and/or full-time employment results and capturing first destination information. The Career Advisor will assist with the planning, development, and production of resume books and career guidebooks, maintain and increase knowledge and proficiency with campus recruiting software, identify and review both print and web-based career resources, and contribute to the continued development of Career Services, including the website and career management system in coordination with other staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills

Highly developed oral and written communication skills

Proficient with multiple computer software programs (spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.)

Demonstrated strong organization skills

Required Education and/or Experience Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in public health, higher education administration, counseling, or human resources

Exposure to career services at a college or university or human resources experience

Compensation Information This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 24.
