Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Payroll Specialist
to join their finance team. This is a critical role responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for approximately
300 employees
across multiple legal entities and various states. The ideal candidate will be an expert in multi-state payroll compliance and dedicated to maintaining the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality. Main Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 300 employees in a multi-entity and multi-state environment. Ensure accurate and timely data entry, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions, and withholdings. Manage compliance for all federal, state, and local payroll taxes and reporting, including quarterly and year-end processes (W-2s). Reconcile payroll data and general ledger entries related to payroll, benefits, and taxes. Administer and process employee benefits, garnishments, and 401(k) deductions. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and taxes, providing excellent customer service. Maintain payroll system integrity, conducting regular audits and identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Stay current on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices across all relevant states. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of dedicated payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, and payroll tax regulations. Proficiency with a major payroll software system (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, etc.). Reconciliation and general ledger accounting skills related to payroll is a plus Proficient with Microsoft Excel. Location: Vancouver, WA - Hybrid flexibility Salary: $68,000 - $80,000
