Cardiac Sonographer / Lead Echo Tech at Brigham and Women9s Hospital (Mass General Brigham). Full-time, 40 hours, daytime schedule. On-site at 70 Francis Street, Boston, MA. Pay range information is included in the posting below. Key Responsibilities

Performs 2-dimensional, color Doppler and Doppler echocardiograms. Proficient in non-imaging continuous Doppler for diagnosing and imaging valvular, congenital, systolic, and diastology pathologies. Interprets test results and notifies referring physician or house officer of preliminary reports. Assists in scheduling cardiac ultrasound procedures for inpatients and outpatients when availability is a concern. Assists with inventory of supplies in the Echo Lab and daily equipment maintenance. Maintains all echo equipment and performs minor troubleshooting; complex problems are referred to the echo supervisor. Reviews patient charts to obtain pertinent clinical history for testing and interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and positions them appropriately to ensure comfort and understanding. Performs portable studies as needed, including mobilization of equipment. Records, reviews, and reports test results; uses electronic medical records and reporting systems to create a permanent record of the cardiac examination. Maintains clean and orderly testing rooms and adheres to infection control guidelines. Keeps current on developments in technical instrumentation and trends in cardiac ultrasound; attends approved seminars and meetings. Performs limited clerical duties as required by the echo supervisor or Technical Director. All testing is performed with minimal supervision of results by the echo supervisor. Essential Functions / Leadership

Provide leadership and guidance to echocardiography technologists, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Perform a wide range of echocardiography procedures (transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, and 3D echocardiography). Ensure accurate image acquisition and interpretation, utilizing advanced techniques as necessary. Review echocardiogram images for technical quality and adherence to standards. Prepare and position patients, explain processes, and address concerns. Oversee maintenance and calibration of echocardiography equipment for optimal functionality and image quality. Collaborate with cardiologists and other professionals to discuss cases and assist with interpretation. Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and findings. Qualifications

Education: Associate0s/ Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred. No experience-based substitution for degree. Licenses and Credentials: ARDCS or CCI certification required. Experience: Echocardiogram studies experience 3-5 years preferred; knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics required. Skills & Abilities

High level of technical expertise in cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics. Ability to analyze complex cardiac pathologies via echocardiography and provide initial interpretations to referring physicians (complex cases discussed with supervisor). Strong manual dexterity and understanding of ultrasound equipment and physics. Effective communication with patients and staff; detail-oriented with strong record-keeping. Ability to work weekends and perform bedside echocardiograms in ICUs. Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing environments. Physical Requirements
