The Content Strategist is a crucial client-facing role that is responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist is responsible for more Enterprise clients and is expected to have a deep understanding of their service line and how it impacts other areas of business to create a holistic marketing strategy. Please note: internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO. What You'll Do
Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: Create custom strategies and implement best practices for clients to achieve NSMs. Build the initial client strategy during project phase and optimize over the lifetime of the engagement based on client goals, ongoing campaigns, and historical performance while adhering to Directive best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with Associate Director (AsD) when roadblocks arise that impact strategy and goal attainment. Content and Campaign Ideation: Craft creative briefs and content campaigns with a focus on ideation based on competitor and audience insights. Best Practices and Metrics: Use LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, and Content Production to inform strategies. Goal Setting: Use available data to set client goals, reviewed and approved by the Associate Director (AsD) in meetings. Data Sources: Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush reporting, Ahrefs reporting. All goals must be approved by the AsD before presenting to the client. Project Management: Ensure strategy execution and clear task ownership using Asana. Delegate tasks to Specialists and clients and ensure timely completion. Partner with Project Managers as applicable and ensure content campaigns are delivered on time and meet client quality standards. Internal and External Communication: Build strong client relationships and proactively communicate with clients and internal leadership on deliverables, timeline expectations, progress toward goals, roadblocks, and opportunities for account growth. Use Slack for ongoing updates between bi-weekly meetings. Reporting: Regular progress reporting to clients on a bi-weekly cadence, including NSM progress and ongoing deliverables, plus monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual business review materials. Proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building Analytical skills to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics with tools like Google Analytics Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog Organizational, project, and time-management skills Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO and content Agency experience B2B tech and/or SaaS experience Goals
NSM Attainment: 100% MRR Retention: 96% CSAT > 4.2 Upsells / Cross-sells / Referrals Strategists are expected to regularly look for opportunities for client growth with Directive (e.g., expanding into additional service lines or increasing budgets).
