General Summary

Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process. This job description, performance appraisal and competency assessment applies to all Registered Nurses who have successfully met performance expectations for Registered Nurse. The employee supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.

Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.

Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.

Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.

Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.

Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.

Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.

Required

What you will need

Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN within a specific time frame)

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)

Preferred

BSN or MSN preferred

At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required

Current knowledge of nursing skills and practice

Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications: internet, email, word processing

Ability to retrieve and interpret data

Effectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend English

Effective eye and hand coordination

Ability to analyze and synthesize information within a short period of time

Effective problem-solving skills

Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize

Ability to work well with individuals and groups

Pay Range

- $38.92-$55.68

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. About Us
