Senior Epic Systems Analyst – Health Department
Location: Gladys McCoy Building, 619 NW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97204. Telework: routine telework available for qualified applicants who reside in Oregon or Washington.
Pay Range: $45.33 - $55.81 hourly. Department: Health Department. Job Type: Regular Represented. Exemption Status: Non-Exempt. Closing Date: October 30, 2025.
Job Overview The Multnomah County Community Health Center seeks an experienced Senior Epic Systems Analyst to lead strategic initiatives in health IT adoption, driving design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Epic Systems for staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Health IT/IS Subject Matter Expert (SME):
Maintain deep expertise in operational workflows, data analytics, and industry trends to design, analyze, and optimize systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and quality improvement.
Lead the Full Technology Implementation Lifecycle:
Manage cross-functional projects, develop charters, define requirements, conduct business process analysis, execute QA and user acceptance testing (UAT), and coordinate system modifications with internal staff and external vendors.
Lead and Manage Business-Driven Projects:
Act as the project lead for small to large-scale initiatives, utilizing project management principles to define, monitor, and drive actions for successful implementation.
Translate and Define Technical Requirements:
Serve as the crucial link between business needs and technical execution, translating project requests into clear customer requirements and collaborating with stakeholders and vendors.
Build and Maintain Comprehensive Expertise:
Develop a deep understanding of core clinical functions and how Epic functionality, connectivity, and tools support these critical business practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field (or equivalent education and experience).
Three (3) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Epic Systems software in a clinical or operational setting.
Working knowledge of implementation and support of Epic Systems Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Practice Management software systems.
Working knowledge of Epic Cogito Tools.
Basic knowledge of patient care clinical processes and workflows.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse employees, management, external contacts, other agencies and the general public.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a clinical or EHR setting.
Collaborate with clinic leadership and users to identify opportunities for efficiencies in operations and improved health outcomes.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate close attention to details.
Assume project team responsibilities or sub-projects as assigned.
Advanced written and oral communication skills, including speaking in front of groups and communicating policies, procedures, memoranda and training materials.
Ability to operate and communicate effectively while under pressure.
