In CVS Health Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team to deliver operational and service excellence, assist patients and customers, and ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately. Technicians complete a rigorous company training program and must satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to their State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Until requirements are completed, duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager. Responsibilities

Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health. Follow pharmacy workflow procedures (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; support immunizations and other services; escalate patient problems as needed. Perform basic inventory activities as directed, such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories, as permitted by law. Contribute to a high-performing team, be open to feedback, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; may travel to other stores to cover shifts as required. Understand and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy. Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowed by law and supported by training and certification. Immunization Support (where permissible)

Complete licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to assist preparing and administering vaccines. Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty. Monitor for adverse reactions and report per public health requirements. Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient. Monitor and manage vaccine supplies. Required Qualifications

Comply with state board requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (including age, education, licensure/certification). If not mandated by the state, minimum age is 16; if not mandated, minimum educational requirement is high school diploma or equivalent or active enrollment in a program. State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state. Essential Functions

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot between tasks, and verify prescription information and labeling for patient safety. Customer service and team orientation: help people and respond to patient reactions appropriately. Communication: interact effectively with patients and colleagues; active listening. Mathematical reasoning: calculate days supply, tablets, and bottle quantities. Problem resolution: address challenging interactions and choose appropriate actions. Physical demands: stand/walk for extended periods; lift, scan, bag items; reach, stretch, and handle items; perform fine motor tasks; assist with positioning and lifting up to specified weights; near-visual tasks like reading and computer use. Execute additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs. Job Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 29 Time Type: Part time Pay Range: $18.40 - $27.00 per hour This pay range represents base compensation; actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
