Job Purpose CVS Health transforms health care for customers, improving access and lowering costs. Within our retail locations,

District Support Pharmacists (DSPs)

cultivate a culture of excellence, acting as a role model and setting the bar for pharmacy teams.

Responsibilities

Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.

Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC), overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.

Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.

Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.

Coach the pharmacy team to provide compassionate care, resolve insurance or medication issues, and deliver immunizations.

Guide inventory best practices, protecting cold chain products.

Maintain clinical skills and pursue continuing education and CMEs.

Provide pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, hormonal contraception) where permissible.

Comply with federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS policies, ensuring patient safety and a safe workplace.

Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of related pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service experience.

Essential Functions

Travel within a reasonable radius to support staffing and business needs.

Attend regularly, including nights and weekends.

Complete required training within the designated timeframe.

Demonstrate attention and focus, customer service, communication, mathematical reasoning, problem resolution, and physical demands as outlined in the comprehensive job functions.
