Examiner Physician Assistant
role at Loyal Source Government Services. You will conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) Examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability benefits. The role involves reviewing the claim, performing focused assessments of claimed injuries, reviewing medical records, and potentially rendering a medical opinion based on the record review and completed C&P exam. Charting from home may be required. Each examiner plays a vital role in the overall experience of the Veteran by providing an exceptional experience during these examinations to positively impact each Veteran. Responsibilities
Conduct Comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations: perform thorough and focused medical evaluations of Veterans, including reviewing medical history, conducting physical examinations, and assessing the impact of disabilities on daily life and functional abilities. Travel up to 10% to other Loyal Source clinics. Review and Analyze Medical Records: assess medical records, diagnostic test results, and other pertinent documentation to understand the Veteran’s medical history and health condition. Render Objective Medical Opinions: provide unbiased, evidence-based medical opinions regarding the extent of health issues and their impact on work and daily activities based on examination findings, diagnostics, and medical record review. Case Management and Communication: understand and work in the case management system, organize workload, submit examination findings, and correspond with the Quality Assurance Team. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: coordinate with other healthcare professionals, specialists, and experts as needed. Document Findings: accurately record examination findings and recommendations in clear reports following VA guidelines and contractual requirements. Team Collaboration: partner with Loyal Source departments to gain support and meet deadlines for optimal performance. Time Management: manage submission timelines and availability/scheduling for all C&P exams. Compliance and Quality: adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to disability examinations to ensure accuracy, fairness, and quality. QA and VA Training: collaborate with QA to submit thorough examination findings and remain compliant with VA training requirements and VA MDE program requirements. Confidentiality: safeguard all patient information in line with privacy and security protocols, including HIPAA requirements. Qualifications
Education and Licensing: Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Valid, unrestricted PA license in the United States (50 states, DC, or territories) with no licensure bars. Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant; prior experience in medical disability examinations or related field preferred. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with renewals. Military Experience: Previous military experience or familiarity with military/veteran communities preferred. Training: Completion of specialized training or continuing education in Medical Disability Evaluations or related areas is advantageous. Clinical Skills: Proficient in conducting comprehensive medical assessments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and forming evidence-based medical opinions. Interpersonal and Communication: Empathetic, patient-centered approach; strong verbal and written communication skills for clear findings presentation. Ethics and Integrity: Commitment to ethical standards, objectivity, and fairness in disability evaluations. Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with strong time management to handle multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the United States and able to meet federal contractor requirements. Travel & Schedule
Travel: Approximately 10% travel required to support other clinics; additional travel for training or events may be required. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm standard schedule. Some clinics may be closed on holidays. About Loyal Source
