Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where allowed by state and federal laws/regulations; ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.

Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within authorized company policies, laws, regulations and business ethics.

Lead the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Manage training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians. Make decisions regarding performance management, including discipline and termination.

Assist pharmacist in patient care activities as allowed by law, including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting, and verification. Support healthcare service offerings such as administering vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law.

Coordinate and supervise non-clinical work in the pharmacy to ensure on-time task completion and efficient workflow. Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies as directed.

Manage core pharmacy workflow, daily scheduling, and inventory; ensure the pharmacy is organized, stocked, and compliant with policies and laws. Monitor and improve pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service in collaboration with managers.

Drive implementation of new technology and processes; ensure proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy department equipment; maintain security safeguards and recordkeeping in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager.

Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.

Support community outreach, partner relationships, and off-site immunization clinics as directed by the Pharmacy Manager.

Customer Experience Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve non-clinical customer requests promptly and model customer service best practices. Build relationships by anticipating needs and enhancing the pharmacy experience.

Training & Personal Development Maintain PTCB certification and other required certifications. Pursue professional development and follow performance improvement plans as directed by the Pharmacy Manager.

Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital settings. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in specified locations).

Preferred Qualifications Previous people management/leadership experience. Prior Walgreens experience with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

The current salary range for this position is $22.50 per hour - $31.00 per hour. The actual hourly salary within this range will depend on geography, skills, education, experience, and other factors.
