The Department of Family Medicine provides primary health care, educates medical and psychology students and graduates, conducts research, and engages with communities. This position will provide therapeutic evaluation and treatment of patients with psychological disorders at Family Medicine clinics, coordinating with multidisciplinary clinicians to provide team-based, patient-centered care aimed at equitable treatment for a diverse population. Ideal candidates will have experience with integrated team-based care, expertise in motivational interviewing, evidence-based psychotherapies, and working with diverse populations. Clinical skills are required for assessments, brief psychotherapy, health and behavior change interventions, substance use treatment, and appropriate triage. Examples of Work Performed:
Clinical Care
Provide consultations and recommendations for behavioral health questions and concerns to family medicine providers. Assess, diagnose, and treat behavioral, mental, and emotional conditions. Facilitate group visits as needed. Design and implement health promotion and disease prevention interventions. Support goal setting and patient self-management skills. Teaching and Supervision
Supervise behavioral health trainees including graduate students, interns, and fellows. Interprofessional
Provide team-based care with multidisciplinary teams. Coach physicians in communication and health behavior change techniques. Conduct hospital rounds as needed. Facilitate referrals for more significant mental health conditions. Participate in quality improvement and practice transformation initiatives. Administrative
Maintain eligibility for School of Medicine Faculty. Stay informed of latest developments in the field. Participate in clinical research if desired. Attend conferences and faculty development activities. Work Location:

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD). Completion of an accredited postdoctoral program with enough clinical hours for licensure. Ability to obtain Colorado licensure and credentialing. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in primary care-based, team-integrated settings. Expertise in motivational interviewing and evidence-based therapies. Experience in teaching and staff development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Clinical assessment and intervention skills. Supervision of clinical staff and trainees. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Confidentiality and teamwork abilities. How to Apply:
