The position supports day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, administrative activities, and ensures an efficient pharmacy workflow with a positive patient experience. The role requires supervision of pharmacy technicians and cashiers under a pharmacist’s guidance. Responsibilities

Accountable for day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where allowed by state and federal laws/regulations; ensure efficient workflow and a positive patient experience; serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where applicable. Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions; supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics. Lead selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel; provide training, coaching, and performance management; make decisions regarding discipline and termination as needed. Customer Experience

Engage customers and patients by greeting them and assisting with products and services; resolve complaints and respond to requests to ensure a positive customer experience; model customer service best practices. Develop relationships with customers by anticipating needs and offering services to enhance the pharmacy experience. Operations

Assist pharmacists in patient care activities including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation and verification of medications where allowed; participate in vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law. Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy within policy and law; ensure on-time task completion and accountability for workflow. Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies; manage core pharmacy workflow and daily schedule; allocate pharmacy hours; maintain a clean, stocked environment. Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and inventory management that do not require licensure; manage annual inventory preparation. Maintain recordkeeping and security safeguards in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager; support proper operation of pharmacy department equipment. Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during applicable prescription-dispensing activities; understand role in meeting Good Faith Dispensing requirements. Support asset protection and diversion monitoring; report concerns to the Pharmacy Manager; communicate prescription errors per policy and participate in Continuous Quality Improvement. Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims; follow up with insurers and providers and participate in 3rd party audits as needed. Assist and support Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service. Manage Community Outreach Portal; coordinate and assign pharmacists to off-site immunization clinics and community events; build relationships with retail partners. People & Performance Management

Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline decisions; follow policy for attendance, timeliness, and compliance with laws; drive team engagement and performance improvements. Oversee technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; ensure timely completion of training; follow company policies for scheduling and training. Identify gaps in operational knowledge and support team members through hands-on training or learning modules. Monitor licensures, registrations, and certifications for pharmacy staff; use resources to document licensure status; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee selection, recruitment, record retention, and training per policy and law. Training & Personal Development

Maintain PTCB certification and required state certifications; pursue ongoing professional development. Maintain current knowledge related to pharmacy and healthcare; obtain required certifications and training; follow performance improvement plans as directed. Seek development, solicit feedback, and use mentors for professional growth. Communication

Communicate with the pharmacy team and relay messages from support centers; participate in store/pharmacy meetings and weekly check-ins with the Store Manager. Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations). Preferred Qualifications

Previous people management/leadership experience. Previous Walgreens experience with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
