Estimated Start Date: November 1, 2025 to January 1, 2026 (earlier start date considered). The position will remain open until filled and applications reviewed as received.
Position Summary: This fulltime, 12-month Clinical Title Series, tenure-ineligible faculty position serves as the Director for the Simulation and Learning Center. The role combines teaching and advising with leadership responsibilities, supporting the baccalaureate program, clinical simulation learning center, and UK clinical enterprise. It requires collaboration with UK Healthcare and community clinical providers, with responsibility for curriculum development, clinical experiences, and integration of interactive and simulated technology in nursing education. The position includes scholarly activities related to clinical service, simulation, and education.
Responsibilities
Teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate BSN students.
Plan and oversee clinical experiences and guide professional development of BSN students.
Provide clinical instruction in designated practice areas and engage in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Develop expertise in interactive and simulated technology and integrate it into nursing education in collaboration with faculty and staff.
Participate in scholarly activities related to clinical service, simulation, and education.
Serve as Director of the Clinical Simulation and Learning Center.
Qualifications
Earned DNP or PhD in nursing required.
Active unencumbered Kentucky registered nurse license.
Minimum of 3 years of BSN-prepared professional nursing experience within the last 5 years.
Minimum of 1.5 years of simulation experience required.
Demonstrated teaching or mentoring experience with baccalaureate nursing students preferred.
Experience with advising and successful teaching of adult students; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Supervision Yes, this position has supervisory responsibilities.
Departmental and Collaboration Details Collaboration with UK Healthcare and other community clinical providers, administrators, and staff is required.
Education and Experience
Earned DNP or PhD in nursing is required.
Minimum of 3 years of BSN-prepared professional nursing experience within the last 5 years.
1.5 years of simulation experience required.
