Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items as appropriate, and demonstrate selling behaviors during every transaction. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain high standards of guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., reservations program, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback as required in the HR system. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening/closing shifts; maintain knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and proper operation of fixtures and equipment. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily and protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices. Close out daily finances accurately; manage bank deposits and ensure sufficient cash. Verify shipments, conduct inventories, and report discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all policies and procedures including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Remain reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure; problem solver. Able to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods; perform physical tasks as required (e.g., lift up to 30 lbs).
